I love Elvis Aron Presley he is my rock I listen to him if I am sad if I am glad and anytime in between. I only got to see him in concert one time in 1970 and would have gone more if the shows were not always sold out. My love for him is far more then just his good looks – he was a true southern gentleman born and bred in the deep south, he was a part of that culture and although his career took him far and wide, he was always a Southern man with southern values, he believed in hard work, family, loyalty, religion and patriotism. He was also born into poverty and warfare. Elvis was in many ways the first truly national phenomenon.
In his own words “the colored fokes been singing and playing it just like I am doing now, man for more years then I know .. Nobody paid it no mind until I goosed it up. I got it from them. A lot of people ask me where I got my style, well I didn’t copy my style from nobody.
He was one of a kind and the world will never see another — god gave us an angel but for a short while — one day we will meet again. Until then praise god we have memories and fans that will always keep him alive in our heart’s. His music just sends shivers down my spine — Truly a heavenly angel – just listen to a song any song and u feel and hear heart and soul — a fan for ever
